Where creativity and community come together !
Here goes! I’m so excited to bring you a brand new event business holding online and in person markets, that celebrate small businesses, local artists and community.
Brown Paper Festival is going to be the place to discover handmade businesses who sell incredible products! You’ll be inspired by creative workshops and demonstrations. I can’t wait to find amazing food businesses, drink businesses and possibly even musicians to give a proper festival feel to the day!
Something else that I really want to focus on, is creating a community… I’d love to become a hub of creative minds who are there to help each other out and support when things get tough. Inclusivity is essential, so I’ll be championing people of all walks of life. I feel it is really important to support businesses run by people of colour, people with disabilities and people from the LGBTQ+ community. I will be making active decisions to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included.
Now as you know we are still in the middle of very strange times with lockdown still in place in many ways (if you don’t know, then where have you been!!). So, until we feel more comfortable going out and about, I’m going to be hosting online markets. The first being on Saturday 19th September.
It will be run through this website, with lots of extra things happening over on social media (Facebook and Instagram). I’ll be creating an Online Market page here which will be full of all the incredible businesses taking part. Everyone’s links will be listed so you can visit their websites and shop to your heart’s content.
Applications are open now so if you are a small business creating incredible pieces, head over to the ‘Apply Now’ page where you will find the link to the application form along with more information. There are a limited number of spaces, so unfortunately I won’t be able to give everyone a space however please don’t be scared to apply! I love discovering new businesses and any products that catch my eye will be saved and I’m aiming to do monthly round ups of my favourites.
I’m looking to create a really inclusive, beautiful range of businesses. This may be that your branding is really attractive, with a great aesthetic. Or you may make wonderful, unique products. I’ll be really looking for businesses that compliment each other and provide an amazing variety that shouts quality !!
Over on social media I will regularly be promoting wonderful businesses and giving them the spotlight to tell everyone about themselves and what they do. I can’t wait to discover new businesses but also reconnect with old friends and contacts from previous markets and fairs that I have attended!
I am so excited to be launching this, as supporting small businesses and encouraging people to buy local and handmade is such a huge passion of mine ! So I hope you all enjoy following and supporting Brown Paper Festival …
